There is a
groundswell happening in underground heavy music and
when it boils over, explodes, and the dust finally
settles, only a few will be left standing to claim the
spoils.
You will see Bleeding Through, standing tall atop the
wreckage, wearing the crown.
There are leaders and there are followers. The legions
of diehard devotees that have amassed behind Bleeding
Through is a testament to the energized thread of mutual
understanding that powers the band's music and the
punk-and-hardcore bred work ethic that informs their
every day attitude and sets them apart from the pack.
You can feel it within "Love Lost In A Hail Of Gunfire,"
almost touch it in "On Wings Of Lead" and absolutely
taste and consume it in "Revenge I Seek": Bleeding
Through dominates. No quarter is asked, none is given,
and everything is laid to waste.
The road from the band's defining album, "This Is Love,
This Is Murderous," began with a handpicked slot on
AFI's fall 2003 tour and quickly catapulted them into
Spin Magazine's "Artists To Watch" issue, shortly before
a van crash that was broadcast on CNN and "Good Morning
America" but miraculously left the band unscathed.
The following year kicked off with the band's
"Mutilation Tour," which culminated in a triumphant
soldout performance near their Orange County home that
was captured on a live DVD, and from there saw them land
a coveted spot on Ozzfest 2004. They earned the direct
support position on MTV2's third "Headbanger's Ball: The
Tour" after that, with the videos for "Love Lost..." and
"On Wings Of Lead" remaining in healthy rotation.
Hailed as part of the "Future Of Metal" in a Revolver
cover story the band began 2005 with a month-long
headlining visit to Europe as Metal Hammer, Rocksound
and the rest of the overseas press rolled out the
red-carpet. In the spring the band buckled down to
record the followup to "This Is Love," called "The
Truth," for a fall release. A headlining run on the
second annual "STRHESS TOUR" will lead into their Warped
Tour stint.
Thrashing histrionics, staccato hardcore pummel,
Scandinavian savagery, and lush atmosphere coalesce into
an undeniable ferocity that, combined with the emotive
sensibilities of bands like Joy Division and The Smiths
(enduring soundtracks for the dejected and desolate to
be sure) and delivered with the bile and venom of
vintage punk, is the only way to even begin to define
the heart of what Bleeding Through can do.
It's a sound that resonates worldwide with an ever
burgeoning throng of passionate, creative, and fiercely
devoted people who connect with the message carried by
the band's very name: together we all bleed, through
dark times and light, Bleeding Through |
