Otep got their start in late 2000, when singer/band namesake Otep Shamaya brought her Marilyn Manson-meets-Kim Gordon style of singing to a crew of musicians known only as Rob, Moke, and eViL j. The foursome began gigging around Los Angeles and scored a deal with Capitol solely on the strength of their live show (they'd not yet recorded a demo), releasing the Jihad EP the following year. Rumors of cannibalism and dabbling in the mystical arts helped add to their mysterious image, and they found themselves being complimented by the likes of Marilyn Manson himself for their antics. Their eighth live show ever was at 2001's Ozzfest, and Otep stepped back into the studio with Terry Date at the tail end of the year to record their full-length debut, Sevas Tra, which saw the light of day in the summer of 2002. That summer they again joined up with the Ozzfest tour, gaining a prime spot on the second stage. In 2004 the group released its sophomore effort, House of Secrets. Working with producer Dave Fortman (Evanescence, Mudvayne), Otep followed up three years later with The_Ascension and supported it on spring 2007 dates with Static-X.
Butcher Babies
Faster than you can say heavy fucking metal, The Butcher Babies have
clawed their way to the top of the Hollywood music scene to become the
undisputed darlings of the Sunset Strip. Now, they are poised to take
on the rest of the world.
Fronted by Carla Harvey and Heidi Shepherd, and backed by Henry Flury
on lead guitar (Amen), Jason Klein on bass (Azdachao), and Chris
Warner on drums (Scars of Tomorrow), the Butcher Babies dish out
brutal grooves that attack the crowd during performances that play out
like a slaughter house carnival ride.
Rock Journalist Keith Valcourt recently hailed the Butcher Babies as
"The Hottest Band in the World" in his review of a show. "The Butcher
Babies deliver a loud crashing blend of heavy metal, punk and thrash
that recalls Pantera" notes Valcourt, adding "their stage show
embodies the horror antics of Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie. Carla and
Heidi don't merely sing: they assault the crowd with a blinding flash

One-Eyed Doll
Described as Strawberry Shortcake meets Gwar and Valentine's Day meets Halloween with the visual impact of Japanese Anime, One-Eyed Doll is an award-winning Austin, Texas power rock duo with a loyal global fan base and extensive international press exposure. In 2009, 2010 2011 the group swept the SXSW Music Awards in categories such as Best Punk Band, Best Metal Band, Best Goth Band, Best New Band, Best Acoustic Guitarist, Best Electric Guitarist, Best Producer, Best Drummer, Best Songwriter, Best Female Vocalist and more. The group has independently released three full-length albums, appears in Revolver, Guitar World and Guitar Player magazines and has left several national tours in its wake including major anime conventions (DragonCon, AniMix, IKKiCON, Anime Overload, ShadoCon, etc.) Blazing the band's wildfire buzz amongst their growing legions of religiously crazed fans is One-Eyed Doll's cult leader: the impossible-not-to-love Kimberly Freeman, whose punishment is so sweet you'll beg for more.
